What else should engineers be good at?
There has been much discussion about the importance to an engineering graduate of so-called “soft skills” and the proposed new institution NMiTE plans to offer a degree in Liberal Engineering. But what else – in addition to technical engineering topics – should be covered in any good engineering degree programme? It is easy to put down a long list of general subjects, but it is not possible to include everything. Comments would be welcome on what aspects of ethics, philosophy, art, aesthetic design, finance, economics, biology, climate change or other clearly relevant non-engineering topics you think deserve inclusion in the engineering degree of 2020.
